Navalny: Shocking, but sadly not surprising

Navalny, a super worthy documentary by Daniel Roher (creator of the tremendous Once We Were Brothers doc), is the plight of Putin adversary Alexei Navlany, currently incarcerated in a Russian jail.

The doc follows Alexi post poisoning and the investigation and discovery of Putin’s henchmen.

The story is well told, interspersing lovely moments of Nalvany and his brave family, his exile in Germany, and his fandom and large support by Russian citizens. The propaganda media machine is also perfectly edited in to show the depth of Putin’s tentacles.

While oversimplifying the problem, I wish we could pull a Hussein drone move on the dictator, rather than band aid the Ukrainians with weaponry…but then again, what would the arms investors do to make money then? (chagrin emoji)
