Avatar: The Way of Water…Ummmm, Yeh about that…

I didn’t hate it, let’s start with that (laugh emoji). Visually stunning, but not even close to Dune, Avatar The Way of Water is just a so so story, but exceptionally great for kids for the positive messages.

A member of the cast is analogous to this year’s Batman where I go…Colin Farrel was The Penguin?!, but this time it’s Kate Winslet as Ronan…and who the heck WAS Ronan? I mean they need name tags for me to know who is who or in this case blue is blue (laugh emoji).

James Cameron obviously spends all his money on special effects and zero on actors. Edie Falco plays a gruff military official at the beginning and we don’t see her in the second half. My fantasy is that she screamed, “this story is bunk!” and walked off the set part way through. The one highlight for me was Jemaine Clement (PLEASE MARRY ME) showing up as a marine biologist, but the shame was he wasn’t given any deliciously humorous lines to deliver, which us Flight of the Conchords fans know he can slay.

Thanks to my generous friend, we saw this on IMAX and 3-D, without those frills, I may have pulled an Edie. (laugh emoji)

Again though, great for kids! Far better than horror images.
