Top Ten of 2022: A Complicated Year

This year my choices are more based on acting moments rather than story. As I look down the list, there wasn’t one movie I could say was perfect in screenwriting, yet the performances within the films or in the case of The Fabelmans, subplot, the movie is worthy (or shall I say guilty by association) of commendation.
Also if Hollywood or cinemas could get their act together, there is a still a chance for The Whale, Living and White Noise to break into the top ten.

1.Elvis Austin Butler
2. The Banshees of Inisherin (Barry Keoghan)
3.Empire of Light (Olivia Coleman)
4.Broker (All)
5.The Whale (All)
6.Bones and All (Mark Rylance)
7.Triangle of Sadness (All + Woody Harrelson!)
8.The Fablemans (Teenage subplot)
9.Living (All)
10. To Leslie (All)
Honorable Mention: Aftersun, Tar, The Cathedral, A Love Song
