“The Outfit” Comes Off a Little Too Easily

Graham Moore, Oscar winner for Best Adapted Screenplay for the very moving The Imitation Game, co-wrote and directed The Outfit, out now at Burns Court and AMC Bradenton. And while I love Mark Rylance (I could have kissed him for making me laugh so hard in “Don’t Look Up”), this film was just a little too coy for my liking.
I can’t even say much else to keep my no spoiler promise. The acting was top notch, Rylance is a master at his craft. Zoey Deutch was also clever as his tailor (I mean ‘cutter’-you have to see the film to get this reference) apprentice. Johnny Flynn (handsome as heck in Emma) and Dylan O’Brien are also fantastic as Chicago Mafia thugs.
Don’t get me wrong; The Outfit is worth seeing, it’s just because I love Rylance I wish the outfit could have had a few more layers. But then again that’s me and my low body temperature(laugh emoji)/lover of films with more depth.
